Irish Life GAA Healthy Clubs AGREEMENT FORM - {{app_data.club}} {{app_data.overseas_name}}

The purpose of this document is to inform selected clubs of what is involved in the Irish Life GAA Healthy Clubs Programme to ensure their commitment. The Club Chairperson or Club Secretary must be aware of the requirements and agree to submit this agreement form.

The GAA Community and Health Department is inviting your club to participate in Phase 7 of the Irish Life GAA Healthy Club programme following a successful application.

Phase 7 will commence on March 7th, 2026, with a National Orientation Day in Croke Park. Clubs are given 18 months to complete the necessary steps involved in becoming an accredited ‘Healthy Club’ and to document their progress via the Healthy Clubs Portal by August 10th, 2027.

Your club will be required to progress through the 7- step accreditation process, as per the requirements of the Healthy Club programme. More information at Irish Life GAA Healthy Club Programme | Tobar - https://learning.gaa.ie/healthyclub

The GAA Community & Health team will review the club’s progress following this and successful clubs will be recognised officially in October 2027.

Participation in the project requires:

  1. Sending 1-2 club representatives to attend the National Orientation Day;
    • Date: Saturday March 7th 2026
    • Time: TBC
      • Please note timings are subject to change, exact timings and agenda will be confirmed in the coming weeks.
    • Location: Hogan Suite, Croke Park, Jones Road, Dublin 3 (Parking details to follow)
    • Additional: Refreshments and free parking provided.

  2. Documenting the required steps via the Healthy Clubs portal over the course of Phase 7. Ensuring that, during the eighteen-month period, representatives from your Healthy Club Project Team will attend:
    • Relevant Healthy Club Support webinars and training and engage with your County Health and Wellbeing Committee.
    • Attendance, where possible at the Irish Life GAA Healthy Club Conference in November 2026.
    • At least two meetings with your County Health & Wellbeing Committee (exact dates will be based on the county committee’s planned schedules).
    • Submitting regular reports, via the Healthy Club Portal to help document club progress.

    All of the above information will be discussed in further detail at the National Healthy Club Orientation Day.

Data Protection Statement:

During the Healthy Club Programme participating clubs will submit various information, reports and media (photographs and video) to promote the club’s engagement and document progress. The personal data (name, email address, phone number, photographs and video) collected will be held by the GAA Community and Health Department in electronic and hard copy format.

The Data Controller for the personal data provided is the GAA. The GAA's Data Protection Officer can be contacted by email at dataprotection@gaa.ie or by phone at 01 865 8637 if you have any questions or queries in relation to your personal data. All personal data will be processed in accordance with applicable Data Protection legislation including the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

The purpose of holding this information is to facilitate the delivery of Phase 7 of the Healthy Club Programme (HCP). Your personal data will be retained by the GAA Community and Health Department for the duration of Phase 7 of the HCP. We may retain non-personal data relating to your Club’s involvement of the HCP after Phase 7 of the HCP has been completed, to provide further support and communication to clubs.

The information held may be shared with members of the National Health & Wellbeing Committee, National Healthy Clubs Steering Committee, County Health and Wellbeing Committees, certain members of County Boards and the National Administrative function in Croke Park. Photographs and video may be shared with media partners via press, radio and online channels for promotion purposes. Disclosure of any of your personal data to GAA Community and Health Department partners, such as statutory bodies, Health Service Executive, Healthy Ireland and Sport Ireland will occur only in accordance with the GAA data protection policy.

The right to request a copy of the personal data held by the GAA Community and Health Department can be sought by the individual by contacting us. Any information requested will be provided within a month. The right to have information we hold updated, rectified or deleted may be sought at any time. The individual can do so by contacting us.

If you would like to make a complaint or report a breach in relation to your personal data, you can do so via the appropriate forms on the Data Protection Commission's website at dataprotection@gaa.ie or by contacting the Data Protection Authority in your jurisdiction.

Use of Media and Photographs:

The GAA Community & Health Department aims to ensure that the health and wellbeing of members, clubs, and communities is at the core of all GAA activity. This is achieved by providing all units and members of the Association with access to appropriate support and information and enabling them to develop and maintain their optimum health.

In fulfilling our aim, part of the GAA Community and Health Department remit is to utilise media resources, such as video, photographs and audio to promote the activities engaged in by clubs and counties. Subsequently, reports, videos, photographs and audio materials received by the department from clubs/counties may be distributed to and publicly displayed by the GAA, Provincial Councils, County Boards, other affiliated GAA Club and national/ regional media partners. Our Club Chairperson/ Club Secretary commits to being part of Irish Life GAA Healthy Clubs Programme and to fulfilling, to the best of our capacities, the requirements as outlined above.
